I love to have perfumes. Whether they come in glass bottles, metalized bottles, small size or large size; I love them in all shapes. Another thing that I love about perfumes is the creativity and effort the companies put into their packaging. Every perfume is packed in a different and unique story of their own. Some perfumes come in paper boxes while others come in luxury wooden boxes. The creativity of the packaging departments goes beyond the boundaries when they design the bottles in different ways quite unique from the rest. My powder room has a shelf that is completely dedicated to perfumes. A lot of those perfumes were gifted to me by my friends and family.
However, recently I have noticed that all the perfumes have started coming in the same packaging. It seems like companies are not putting the effort into coming up with new packaging ideas. I have been hunting for some unique perfumes for a long time and I failed in every attempt. It was my wedding anniversary and I wanted to gift my husband a perfume. However, after so many failed attempts in finding that unique perfume, I bought him a tie. It broke my heart as I could not buy him the gift I wanted him to have. It was not just about scent, I felt a perfume needed much more; perhaps a creative makeover.
The best thing is that my husband surprised me with a set of perfumes. These perfumes were packed totally in different attire. They came beautifully packaged in an MDF wooden box with a set of perfumes. The box had an amazing glaze to it and I got inclined to its beauty more than the perfume which was displayed inside it. The bottles of the perfumes were amazing too but the packaging made me fall in love with this gift. It finally made me feel that somewhere in the world there are a few brands who are still articulating to make a difference to their consumers’ feel and wants.
As a perfume-lover, I would really suggest the perfume companies to start focusing on the presentation much more. I can understand it may be an additional budget they have to work on but it no doubt does wonders and gives justice to the scent. The age of packing perfumes in paper or cardboard boxes is long gone. They should start using a luxury wooden box for the packaging of perfumes. It would make them stand out from the rest of the competitors and convince the customers to own them.
